Jung proved his worth in the Medellin cartel smuggling in a way they could avoid getting checked at seaports. he found a new way of smuggling drugs by dropping them on American soil through planes which proved very fruitful for the cartel.
After the partnership with Lehder disintegrated Jung partnered with Pablo Escobar which resulted in smuggling obscene amounts of cocaine into the United States and he started making millions of dollars.
He was arrested for possession of a few pounds of cocaine during a birthday party at his house after authorities got wind of his activities. He was given a reduced sentence of 20 years after he testified against Lehder. Eventually, he was released in 2014.
